It may feel like you’ve given all you have in your relationship and you just don’t know what else to try. Try T. Charles Brantley, Ph. D. , founder of Total Relationship Trainer (TRT). Dr.B. also does individual and mentorship counseling.
Dr. Brantley is a Theologian, Counselor, Author and Comedian.
His passion and goal are to help to restore marriages that feel beyond saving and to guide couples through strenuous periods in life and even through those lulls that do come about in relationships from time to time.
For couples who are not yet married, but have been in a serious relationship or perhaps are living together, Dr. Brantley guides in gaining an understanding of what a covenant really is and assists in those couples transitioning from dating to walking down the aisle into Holy Matrimony.
Graduated from Newburgh Theological Seminary & College of the Bible with Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Apologetics and Doctor of Theology. Also received double masters degree in Pastoral Leadership and Divinity.
Fully accredited by the International Board of Christian Counselors, Dr. Brantley is a board certified, Christian Counselor, through the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Dr. B is also a first responder chaplain for Naugatuck Police, Fire, and State Troopers Department. Dr. B has helped many first responders between work and home life
He is the Founder, Chancellor and President of the Light Seminary Institute in Waterbury; established 2018. During the course work you learn: Greek, Latin, Hebrew, Bible Knowledge, Bible Histor and so much more.
He holds a diploma in Biblical Counseling from The American Association of Christian Counselors and has earned a certificate in Emotional Focused Couple’s Therapy and is a certified, professional marriage coach and mentor with The American Association of Christian Counselors.
In addition to the afore mentioned accolades, Dr. Brantley is a frequent guest of WIHS 104.9 FM, Middletown, Connecticut, on the Bread of Life show. He, also, serves as a relationship expert on Hot 93.7 FM, Hartford, Connecticut (Connecticut’s #1 Source for Hip Hop and R&B) with DJ Buck, Nancy Barrow, and Joey F every other Thursday.
Dr. Brantley is the relationship expert for WTNH’s CT Style on ABC Channel 8 and Fox 61’s The Stan Simpson show.
In July, 2013, he was the featured relationship expert for the nationally syndicated Bill Cunningham Show.
Within the community he is also chaplain for Naugatuck Police Department, Naugatuck Fire Department and State Troopers.

- Dr. Brantley graduated valedictorian of Florida A & M University High School in 1983. He is a 1988 magna cum laude graduate of Florida A & M University (Major in Business Administration & Minor in Mathematics). He is a 2008 earned graduate of Newburgh Theological Seminary and College of the Bible (100 credit hours/18 months to complete) receiving a double degree in Master of Divinity (Summa Cum Laude) and Master of Arts of Pastoral Leadership (Summa Cum Laude).
- Dr. Brantley received both his earned Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Apologetics (Ph.D.) (CumLaude) in 2010 and his second earned Doctor of Theology (Th.D.) in 2013 from Newburgh Theological Seminary and College of the Bible. His respective dissertations were “The Spiritual Faust in the Twenty-First Century” and “Crucified Husband Gloried Husband: The Submission of a Husband to a Wife.”
